Availability Requirements 

Candidates must be available through August 14; significant vacation requests cannot be accommodated due to the short programming season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise children for safety and monitor environmental changes.

  • Plan and lead group activities, encouraging safe risk-taking.

  • Use positive language to guide behavior and resolve conflicts.

  • Oversee daily routines like songs, hygiene, meals, and supervise safe tool use.

Requirements:

  • Current child first aid and CPR certification (or able to obtain by June 1, 2026)

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all-weather with a positive attitude

  • Experience with young children, preferably in early childhood education; familiarity with developmental milestones

  • Environmental education experience and basic knowledge of ecology/natural history preferred

  • Reliability and regular attendance are essential

  • Excellent communication, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence required.

  • Supportive team player interested in the curriculum and committed to the school's mission; resourcefulness valued.

  • Must value early childhood education, free play, and child-led learning, striving for excellence.

  • Strong references necessary.

  • Complete Colorado's required training (first aid/CPR and online child safety courses) and maintain a PDIS account; orientation support available.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour based on your qualifications and experience. 

Position Requirements

Certification and Training 

  • Hold or obtain child first aid and CPR certification by June 1, 2026.

  • Complete all state-required early childhood trainings, including child safety courses.

  • Set up and maintain a Professional Development Information System (PDIS) account with Colorado; support available for new staff.

Work Environment and Attitude

  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather, maintaining a positive attitude during extended periods outside.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Must have experience working with young children, preferably in early education.

  • Understand developmental milestones and children's physical and cognitive abilities.

  • Environmental education experience and basic ecology knowledge are preferred.

  • Reliable attendance is crucial.

  • Strong communication, self-awareness, and teamwork skills are required.

  • Interest in learning curriculum and supporting the school's mission; resourcefulness beneficial.
