Who We Are
Nurtured by Nature Outdoor Exploratory School is a preschool and kindergarten for ages 3–7, offering year-round outdoor programs. We follow a child-led, play-based approach that fosters creativity, exploration, and connection to nature.
Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 3:15 pm.
Locations
Nurtured by Nature is a mobile forest school; our summer sessions will take place at two primary locations. Two sessions will be held near Standley Lake Library in Arvada, CO, while the other two sessions will be located at various sites within the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt in Wheat Ridge, CO.
Standley Lake Library is situated approximately 22 minutes from the Western Stock Show Complex. The Wheat Ridge Greenbelt locations are somewhat variable, but most are about 13 to 15 minutes from the Complex.
Summer Program Structure
For the upcoming summer, we will offer three, two-week sessions and one, one-week session.
Training Dates May 26 & 27
Summer Session 1: June 1 - 12
Summer Session 2: June 15 – 26
No programming June 29 – July 3.
Summer Session 3: July 6 – 17
Summer Session 4: August 10 - 14
The Position
We are looking for two dedicated educators in Early Childhood or Outdoor Education to lead our summer nature group. As a small family-run school, we cap sessions at 12 students and keep a 4:1 student-to-educator ratio to ensure safety, individual attention, and care for natural spaces.

Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is ideal for experienced early childhood teachers interested in forest school environments. Candidates must know various teaching methods like Waldorf, inquiry-based, and child-led learning, and have outdoor ECE experience.

Position Details and Compensation
As our school grows, this full-time seasonal job may become a part-time position during the academic year.

Schedule

Full Day: 8:15 AM–3:15 PM or until students leave and materials are stored.

Half Day: 8:15 AM–12:15 PM.
